About
It’s not uncommon to come across a blog posting that states something along these lines: “I won’t be posting for a while because I need to work on my thesis/dissertation/book, but I’ll resurface eventually.” Rather than go that route, I decided to blog my thesis. It didn’t quite work out as planned. I did the bulk of the research and writing in 10 weeks, so it was difficult to find the energy to blog about something that was already taking so much of my time.
But, now that it’s done, I have time to discuss my research findings, tricks and tools of the trade, really great time-wasters (you know you want to procrastinate), and anything about Jewish history, academic publishing, and scholarship that I think is worth posting.
You can reach me by posting a comment on the blog or by emailing me at Rachel@rjkg.com.

Well a Master’s is a lot of hard work, having been there myself, so you get as cranky as you like.

Funny, I started a blog as a way of AVOIDING finishing my thesis. I was very frustrated. I’m hoping the blog will ease some angst so I can finsh. The library is calling, the books are over due.

Call me crazy, but I think blogging about your MA thesis as you write it is a fabulous idea. I intend to do the same thing for a book I’m about to embark on. Best of luck with both efforts.

I think that, out of the two of us, I’m the crazy one.
Blogging a book is an even better idea. In your case, it can become a somewhat collaborative effort. I had wild hopes and dreams that would happen in my case, but few people are researching topics even related to mine. Plus, you’re already part of a community of scholars. Sigh.
